Dr. Catherine Havasi is the CEO and co-founder of Luminoso, an AI-based natural language understanding company based in Cambridge, MA. Catherine started Luminoso to help companies apply artificial intelligence to automate the analysis of text data. Luminoso’s technology is founded upon Catherine’s years of research at the MIT Media Labs to enable computers to understand language the same way that people do - through context. Catherine also directs the Open Mind Common Sense project, one of the largest semantic knowledge bases in the world, which she co-founded alongside Marvin Minsky and Push Singh in 1999.
